Discovery Cove, Orlando is quite simply an oasis of beauty and tranquillity. Located just off Interstate 4, and almost opposite its sister attraction Seaworld, Discovery Cove is easy to get to. It is worth pointing out that Discovery Cove is far more than a fantastic sea life sanctuary, which offers the opportunity for visitors to swim with dolphins. In fact it is an all-inclusive day, in which you can experience and explore a whole host of areas within the park, all of which offer something different.So lets get started by explaining some basic advice for visitors. To start with, you must be aged 6+ to experience a swim with the dolphins, although guests below that age are more than welcome to enjoy the remainder of Discovery Cove.
The admission charges are all-inclusive, and as such include free parking, a continental breakfast, a freshly prepared 3-course lunch and all drinks and snacks. For those swimming with the dolphins you will be provided with the appropriate items to ensure that you get the most from your once in a life time experience. Towels, lockers and shower facilities are also included, as is sun lotion/block. Quite simply guests can arrive with a swim suite, camera and a video camera. I would also recommend a pair of swimming shoes. Please note that no food or drink will be allowed into the park.
Each Discovery Cove ticket also includes either 7 or 14 days unlimited access to any one of Discovery Cove’s sister parks, including Seaworld, Busch Gardens and the brand new Aquatica waterpark.Discovery Cove puts a high emphasis on education and conservation, and this is reflected throughout the park, which is superbly maintained and presented. The park is quite simply alive with life, as can be seen in any one of the park’s areas including the Aviary a fantastic area in which guests can see some of the world’s most colourful species. Coral Reef, which offers visitors the opportunity to snorkel through the fantastic, reefs alive with some of the world’s most colourful marine life. With its shipwreck remains complete with safety glass you can see such species as Barracuda and sharks! not to mention the giant rays. Ray Lagoon where you get up close and personal with one of the worlds most elegant fish, Resort Pool and the Tropical River where you can relax with your family and friends, in this refreshing tropical freshwater river as it winds its way around the park. Waterfalls and sandy beaches are popular points to stop off at as you continue through this tropical rain forest setting. For those who prefer a more sedate day, there are a number of beach areas complete with sun lounges. To ensure that disabled guests get the most from their day at Discovery Cove, the park offers specially adapted wheelchairs although these must be reserved directly from the park, Specially adapted snorkels are also available for guests with impaired vision. Special dietary needs are also catered for within the park. Any such request should be made directly with the park.
