Local restaurants are plentiful & offer a variety of cuisines, for the boating enthusiast you will be spoilt for choice & the fishing here is world renowned, so much so the worlds richest tarpon competition is held off Gasparilla Island every year.
This is old world Florida at its best, discover the unspoiled charms of Boca Grande, Cape Haze, Manasota Key & Gasparilla Island.
Beach Rights:
As our guests you have beach rights on the beautiful Don Pedro Island, which is part of an extensive chain of barrier islands extending along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Between Knight Island and Little Gasparilla Island, Don Pedro is accessible only by private boat or ferry. Cars are allowed on the island but most people use golf carts to get around. Boaters can tie up at the dock on the bay side of the island, which is lined with mangroves. You may be lucky enough to see endangered animals such as West Indian manatees, gopher tortoises, bald eagles, and American oystercatchers. With one mile of white sandy beach, popular activities on the island's Gulf side include sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and shelling. There are hiking and nature trails that meander through the island's eleven distinct nature communities. Sea Turtle nesting season is from May to September when visitors are asked to exercise caution and not disturb the nesting sites; guided walks and educational talks are available by park rangers. Don Pedro is located off the coast of Cape Haze about three miles south of Rotonda West. Facilities for visitors include a pavilion, tables, grills, outdoor showers and restrooms.
Rotonda is primarily a residential area, it is both quiet & peaceful but is still within reach of the many attractions that Florida is famous for.
For the golfer there are numerous courses in the area including five on Rotonda & these are The Links, The Palms & The Hills forming the Rotonda Golf & Country Club. Long Marsh part of the Lemon Bay Golf Club & Pinemoor West Golf Club, opened 2 years ago. The new Pine valley golf course is due for completion next year.

"Hi Lynne,
We are almost one week at home, school started, and we both started to work. My father is feeling better but it was not possible for him to fly to Florida. He had to be in hospital until Easter Saturday. We had a wonderful time in your villa and it was much nicer than we expected it would be. We enjoyed the pool, the nice weather and your comfortable home. So I can say that this was one of our best holidays."

Just a quick note to say thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home. We have and
stayed in many villas in Europe and have to say that yours is exceptional. The house is immaculate and the pool is a brillant size. We would certainly recommend it to friends. . The children enjoyed the second week of their holiday, sailing, fishing & riding in golf carts and playing on the beach more than their first week in Disney - so that says everything. Weather was great and so were the people.
